Hey there. Still alive.
I actually just read them, and I love it. I’ve loved it since the beginning, but I stopped reading them for a bit when I realized they’d come out in print, and I didn’t want to pay for it twice. I did pay for these, and I’d pay for them multiple times if I could.
I think Nguyen has created a great world to give kids access to a Gotham that isn’t completely terrifying while being faithful to all of the characters. And though it may be aimed at kids, just like Tiny Titans it’s just as enjoyable for adults too. I also love how he has full access to the DCU pre-reboot, as I’m really starting to miss those versions of the characters.
Added! Thank you.
Added! I haven’t picked that one up yet. I should.
Thanks.
Not a problem, it was on my to-do list, I just bumped it up.
This should be everything. Let me know if I missed anything (this goes for everyone).
Hi! I apologize if this has been sitting in my inbox, I’ve been checking my Tumblr on my phone and it was failing to tell me I had any messages, so I only saw this today when I checked the site proper. If you sent this today… well then nm.
I’ve been doing well! The whole thing with DeconstructingDamian hasn’t changed very much since my last admin post… work has shot my free time to hell. Also, having a steady income again has lead me to do things other than sit around at night like I had before. I’m also fighting apathy, not because I don’t love DeconstructingDamian anymore (I do!), but because I really don’t want to read “Resurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul” again. I was about to skip it when I saw this cryptic tweet from Chris Burnham (“Turns out that the Resurrection of R’as al Ghul is more important than you thought. (and not for the reason you’re thinking) :D”), and promptly committed myself to forcing through it again for the sake of Batman Inc v2.
This weekend is already booked, so I think I’m going to try to start doing pieces over my break again. Stay tuned.

As for his swords—there is no specific backstory/meaning. To my knowledge he’s been seen with one sword several times (“Batman and Son” immediately comes to mind) and with two swords twice (Batgirl 17 and Batman and Robin 8). The fact that he can wield dual swords like that shows that he’s ambidextrous, though he probably has a hand he favors, my guess is the right as that’s the hand it’s primarily seen in. Batgirl is the only time he’s seen with his swords in the field (I believe, I’m doing this all off memory, so someone correct me if I’m wrong). My headcanon (although there is art that specifically disproves this) is that he keeps the swords under his cape.
Nothing about Damian’s life makes sense, unfortunately. Comics never help things make sense, because they like to make life more confusing.
In both the Son of the Demon and Batman Inc, Talia and Bruce bump uglies. But while in Son of the Demon Talia has Damian the old fashioned way, in Morrison’s Batman arc (and Tomasi’s slightly altered backstory in Batman and Robin v2 0 goes with this), Talia took Bruce’s… genetic information from the deed and incubated him in an artificial womb.
As for the clone part, no, Damian is not a clone. However, Damian has a clone.
He plays a bigger part in Batman Inc v2, but as I’m trying to keep this above a cut that’s all I’ll say on the matter.
No, I’m not going anywhere! I just wanted to get everyone’s attention. Do I have it? Good.
So since I started this blog in June of last year, I’ve been pretty much on top of things. I used to have the queue going for multiple posts a day, and I never really let it dry out until Sandy when I had no power to post. Since Sandy, I know the posts have gotten longer and longer with nothing in the middle, and I apologize for that.
Basically, the big catalyst here is that I’ve got a 9-5 job now, and I’m not doing so well balancing what little free time I have left. When I started the blog I was unemployed and thus had copious amounts of free time to post about Damian all day long. Now, I have a couple hours to comb through things, and a lot of the times posting here has been put on the back-burner. This is partially due to the content (I hate both Battle and Resurrection), but mostly due to life just getting the best of me.
I am not going anywhere. I still plan on continuing this blog until I catch up to the DCnU, and then some. However, things have got to change from how I currently run it for both my sake and yours.
So from now on posts may be a bit more sporadic. I’m going to try to update as frequently as I’m able, but I can no longer make promises on how frequent “frequent” is, but whenever I do fill the queue I will try to fill it with at least 2 weeks worth of content (that’s 14 posts).
I will try to answer asks as soon as I get them, my goal is to answer them within a week they’re asked. I cannot promise this, but that is my goal.
I apologize for any inconvenience, but that’s how I have to play this for my sanity.
Resurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul will commence as soon as I finish chapter 2 (reading a chapter about fighting dead Robins in a graveyard the day after Batman and Robin v2 18 came out was not a good idea, and has been the primary reason I haven’t picked it up since).
(re: here (spoilers in the link))
Whoops, yes I did! I think I subconsciously blocked it out since the Redbird is Robin’s car/bike and I always thought it was strange that he named himself after Tim’s mode of transportation.
Apparently, Redwing was a Teen Titan from the 90s, whose existence was wiped out during Zero Hour. It’s also the name of the Amalgam universe’s Robin/Angel hybrid. So… it might actually work.
Hey :) I was planning on writing a post explaining where I’ve been and after I finish these asks (don’t worry, I don’t plan on going anywhere).
Honestly, I don’t blame anyone for issues like this except for Editorial. Editorial is the one who has the final say for these things, but it seems like they have this bat hierarchy that goes as follows: Grant Morrison > Scott Snyder > > > > > > Anyone else who might even be thinking of writing a bat character anywhere. And it’s completely not fair to those writes, but at the same time, its hardly the fault of Snyder or Morrison. From this interview I read with Snyder (very slight spoilers about zero year; they’re only really spoilers if you don’t know what it is), it seems like he at least tries to work with the other writers, but then it’s DC’s job to keep everyone on track, which they don’t always do.
Thanks! I really need to update that in general, but I will add those :)
Well, I don’t write fanfiction, so I wouldn’t be writing one about Damian being a girl.
But if you’re trying to ask me what I would name Damian if he were a she…
- Damiana - the female form of Damian. I’m lazy and would most likely choose this.
- Matilda/Hilda - Talia named Damian such because it meant “to tame.” Matilda/Hilda is the closest thing I can find to a female version of that. They both mean “strength in battle” (well Hilda is just battle).
- Samara - To go with the Omen jokes
I’m not very good at this.
This ask (yes, same spoiler) is from an anon, and is in regards to Morrison’s “divorce” remark. Warning: the post below the cut is image heavy.
This ask (same spoiler under the cut) is from b-andthejetts.
